Check the “output” pane in magicQ to make sure you’re really spitting out DMX. I missed that page on the web site. I guess I’ll just have to wait for Chamsys to get with the program. Tom Baldwin, on 05 December – I started out downloading the drivers from the Enttec web site which I later found out not to do.

Any ideas as to if something is wrong here or am I missing something fundamental? Posting here would be fine, but a phone call would be amazing if there is someone out there with mahicq to help out this frustrated guy.
I’m really at my wit’s end here with a show this weekend. You’re getting a Pearl?
I missed that page on the web site. If Chamsys say it should work, then it should work. If the light on the Enttec device is blinking, it is processing DMX. Its been a bit of a nightmare using something else than a good old strand desk in familiar magocq but 5 mins before the show everything came together and it worked out not too bad.
Then, being new to the software I had problems patching the dimmers but eventually I got there You might find it worthwhile downloading the GLP manual from here and looking at the addresses to which it thinks the lights are patched, and making sure that your desk has the same patch. Due to the venue being part of a university building not my uni, but anothers I cannot even go near a step ladder and check what is on the end of that cable or examine the lights myself they are 12 battered looking par cans but it does all work bar one blown bulb. Thanks for the help everyone. I am running from the 3-plug breakout cable on it through DMX1 out 5-pin femalethrough a neutrik 5 pin male to 3 pin female converter and into a 3 pin male which snakes up to the lights above the stage.

The software runs sometimes sits for a minute or so then resumes but once it gets going its fine. There are two things I have to do every time I wnttec the laptop behaves the same on mac and pc: I love my Avolites boards, and still keep one around for pure mover rigs, but there is nothing anywhere near as sophisticated as Chamsys. Thanks for the reply, Alex.
Delete From Topic The post will be ehttec from this topic completely. If you want to use the USB dongle you just have to downgrade to 1. None of which changed anything at all. Blue Room technical forum: Tom Baldwin, on 05 December – I’m using the Ethernet version of the enttec box, and it’s also a bit finnicky, but once I get the signal path going, it’s rock-solid.
